5th October 2003 Windsurfing: Poole Wind Direction: NE Wind Stength: Variable! Surf / Sea State: Flatish Air Temperature: 7 Sea Temperature: Chilly Weather: Sunny with some clouds Max Speed: Distance Covered: Sad not to get to Borth for the big weekend, but managed to get back on the water after more than 2 months off (cracked sternum on holiday and poor weekend wind have kept me off the water) Saturday was nice and JaneBo managed to get out for a very brief and generally unsucessfull sail after 10 months off with swelly belly disease! Sunday saw Jane a bit under the weather so went out. Wind was VERY sporadic. Launched and sailed for about 1 hour without much fun, then the wind kicked in. Have about 5 planing runs and then the wind backed off. Started to go in, but the wind kicked in again so headed back out. Managed about 4 runs on 'the edge', but then hit a submerged boat and lost my fin (no damage to board fortunately!!!!!). Looked for fin twice around low tide, but no joy :-( Overall a good session/weekend. There were some low points, but I got on the plane, the sun shone, my ribs did not hurt and I proved that two months off the water do not make you forget everything! - worth more stars than normal! |
